Our Governing body is made up of Local Authority Representatives, Parents, Local Councillors, Staff and the Headteacher. Below is a list of the current members of the Governing body. Governing Body Vacancy
West End Primary School has vacancies for the role of Governor. These vacancies are for people who wish to get involved with the management and oversight of the school. Through a review of the governing body we have identified that we would benefit from members of the local community who have experience in human resources and financial management. Experience in other areas such as education, health and safety would complement our governing body further.
The role of governor requires attendance to at least 3 meetings per year and regular attendance at committee meetings as required. To play an active part in the management of the school a governor is also expected to attend school to undertake other tasks as required.
A school governor is required to ensure the school is fulfilling its statutory duties and achieving the best outcomes for the children who attend. More details about the role of a governor can be found at www.gov.uk/government/publications/governance-handbook
The School Governance (Constitution and Federations) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2016 has made it mandatory for all Governors to be subject to an Enhanced DBS check. This will be completed upon appointment
